The 2001 baseball world series' fourth game was played in Yankee Stadium
on Oct 31, amid continuing concerns that this gathering of so many people
might be a new target for terrorist attack. Of course it was also an
exciting sports event because the Arizona Diamondbacks were a new team,
only four years old, and had won the first three games from the Yankees,
putting them in a good position for an upset. Arnold Lettieri and I
thought it would be a reasonable event for a prediction, though it was
not likely to capture global interest. Our prediction was for an
increase in the Chisquare (standard analysis) from 7:00 to midnight EST,
thus including some time prior to and following the actual game.
